Lar Veale on Black Oystercatcher ‘Triton’

‘Is it my imagination or has South African wine largely been ignored for the last year or so? If so, it’s a real shame as there is some great stuff coming out of there are the moment. One example is this Black Oystercatcher “Triton” from Elim, not far from the southern most tip of South Africa.’

New Wines at West Coast!

West Coast Wines are delighted to announce that we have recently added six great new wines to our list!
The first four are from the Provence region of the South of France. We now have two breathtaking Rosé’s coming from Chateau D’Esclans, a winery that specialises in Rosé’s in particular. The owner of Chateau D’Esclans, Sacha Lichine has also started another exciting project which he calls his ‘chicken wines’ and which he states are made with ‘pure hedonistic enjoyment in mind.’ From there we are bringing in a Red blend and White blend which are perfect for any occasion.
We are also now working with the O. Fournier group who have bases in Argentina, Chile and Spain. We are bringing in a Malbec and Malbec/Tempranillo blend from the Urban Uco range produced in Mendoza, which we believe to be outstanding wines at exceptional value.

West Coast Wines Sligo Tasting

On Friday 25th June we hosted our first tasting night in the Waterfront restaurant, Rosses point, Sligo. The night was aimed to showcase our South African wines alongside a five course degustation menu by which we paired a different wine with each course as well as a champagne reception with our Methode Cap Classique and finished off with our vintage ports.

West Coast Wines Bring World Wines to Ireland and UK

With all of the South African wines now in our possession West Coast Wines Limited is ready to commence distribution and spread the word that some of finest wines available in South Africa can now be enjoyed in Ireland and Britain. The undoubted quality of these exceptional wines, due in no small part to their relatively small production, and the individual care and attention shown by the award winning winemakers who produce them, offers the exciting opportunity to enjoy Cape wines to challenge any in the world.
Gerry & Paul McSharry seen here on a recent visit to the Napa Valley where they sourced five incredible wines to add to the West Coast Wines portfolio. Two of the brand new additions come from the award winning winemaker Mark Herold, known for his incredible skill and innovation in producing several of the very finest wines made in California today.
Recent contacts made in Argentina and the Provence region of France, will see several new wines being added to the portfolio, allowing Irish and British customers to add fantastic and eclectic elements to their enjoyment of wine.
